Illuminated Tales is a collaborative exhibition that explores and examines the literary practice of combining illustration and the written word through contemporary printmaking.

Storytelling has long held the tradition of complimenting tales, stories and folklore with illustrative imagery to both enhance and expand the reader’s imagination. Through the diverse medium of print, Green Door Printmaking Studio and The Smallprint Company have created an exhibition that explores the depths of each hand-picked tale whilst simultaneously tilting its cap to the timeless and magical relationship between illustration and type.

My new series of screen printed illustrations based on the Grimms’ Fairy Tale ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ will feature in this exhibition alongside work by Chris Barker (Letterpress), Hannah Barker (Linocuts) and Anna Johnson (Etchings).
